Gramercy Networks unveils plans for low latency global financial backbone Vendor targets trading firms with unified high-speed connectivity linking financial centers across three continents August 17, 2026 By[Ben Wodecki](https://www.sdxcentral.com/profile/ben-wodecki/)[Have your say](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/gramercy-networks-unveils-plans-for-low-latency-global-financial-backbone/#comments) [](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/gramercy-networks-unveils-plans-for-low-latency-global-financial-backbone/)[](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/gramercy-networks-unveils-plans-for-low-latency-global-financial-backbone/)[](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/gramercy-networks-unveils-plans-for-low-latency-global-financial-backbone/)[](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/gramercy-networks-unveils-plans-for-low-latency-global-financial-backbone/)[](https://www.sdxcentral.com/news/gramercy-networks-unveils-plans-for-low-latency-global-financial-backbone/)[](https://www.addtoany.com/share)[![Image 2: Preferred source](https://www.sdxcentral.com/static/img/google_preferred_source.172e670ec003.png)](https://www.google.com/preferences/source?q=sdxcentral.com) ![Image 3: Abstract financial graph](https://media.datacenterdynamics.com/media/images/GettyImages-1412710322.2e16d0ba.fill-1000x300.jpg) – Getty Images Gramercy Networks unveiled plans to launch a global low-latency network backbone set to connect major financial hubs. The Los Angeles-headquartered firm is accepting pre-orders from trading and financial firms for the planned network, which will span New York, London, Dubai, Delhi, and Singapore. The project aims to act as a multihub network, with users able to connect multiple financial centers through a common infrastructure rather than treating each market as an individual point-to-point connection. The vendor said the London–Dubai–Delhi–Singapore corridor will form “a particular area of network optimization” to ensure high-speed connectivity between established markets in the West with continually expanding hubs in the Gulf region and Southeast Asia. A combination of subsea cables, terrestrial fiber, and “specialized” content delivery network (CDN) technologies will be employed to reduce network-processing delays. Dedicated fiber, optical spectrum, and high-capacity wavelength services will help to further optimize individual network segments. Gramercy said its customers would be able to tailor their individual needs spanning either individual intermarket connections or broader multimarket configurations. No timeframe was given as to when the project will go live, though the vendor said early customer engagement would help it to prioritize capacity and route requirements. Gramercy said it will evaluate prospective routes based on actual physical characteristics instead of solely conventional carrier routing capabilities “Financial markets are increasingly interconnected, yet firms operating between North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia continue to face significant differences in network performance, route efficiency, and reliability,” Gramercy Managing Director Garret Byrd explained. “Our objective is to engineer these routes as a unified global network specifically optimized for the requirements of the financial community.”
