The PLA material supports 600 mm/s daily print speeds and up to 1000 mm/s depending on printer settings.

eSUN has introduced PLA-HF, a high-speed 3D printing filament for FDM printing. The material is designed for daily print speeds of 600 mm/s and can support speeds up to 1000 mm/s, depending on printer settings and application requirements.

As 3D printing hardware continues to support faster print speeds, filament performance becomes important for maintaining print consistency. At high speeds, issues such as incomplete melting, unstable extrusion and limited cooling can affect part quality.

eSUN previously released PLA-HS and PLA+HS for high-speed FDM printing. PLA-HF expands the company’s high-speed PLA material options while supporting detail retention and structural performance.

### How PLA-HF supports high-speed printing

eSUN developed PLA-HF with a focus on material flow, heating and cooling behavior and layer adhesion.

- Fast melting with reduced stringing: PLA-HF is formulated for improved material flow while controlling viscosity. This helps support melting and extrusion at higher speeds while reducing stringing and sagging.
- Rapid heating and cooling: The filament is designed to heat for extrusion and cool after deposition. This can help reduce heat buildup, corner warping and loss of detail during faster printing.
- Layer adhesion: PLA-HF provides build plate adhesion and Z-axis tensile strength of 32 MPa. This supports larger prints, longer print jobs and parts that require dimensional consistency.

PLA-HF is intended for applications that require a balance of print speed, part quality and repeatability.

- Large-volume and assembly models: The filament can reduce printing time for large parts and assemblies while supporting dimensional accuracy and part strength.
