> Abstract:Statistical reasoning in nonlinear optics follows three routes - wave-turbulence kinetics, multimode equilibrium thermodynamics, and mode-locking statistical mechanics -all relying on externally specified modal bases (waveguide, spectral window, or cavity bandwidth). We ask whether a dissipative soliton (DS) of the complex cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau equation provides a dynamically selected internal scale ratio as a coarse-graining variable. The DS generates its own spectral scales: localization bounds the spectrum, defining a fine-graining scale (cutoff) and a collective core scale; their dynamically selected ratio defines an emergent scale-separation index. This index acquires statistical meaning as an effective mode number only upon ensemble-coherence calibration--central novelty. Closed-form adiabatic spectra compress regimes onto a master diagram with entropy, internal energy, and energy-entropy slopes. DSR manifests as spectral core narrowing--intrinsic in normal dispersion, conditional in anomalous. Along normal dispersion, an entropy-proxy crossing precedes single-pulse loss, suggesting multipulse selection, though noise-driven transitions need testing. Along anomalous, no turnover occurs (path-dependent). Finite-time noise reveals a one-sided accessibility boundary inside the existence region; its role remains open. The deterministic pulse remains coherent; ratio not DOF count. Entropy decompositions are non-unique; temperature slope is not a state function; entropic multipulse selection is conjectural- each caveat is testable. Comparisons to wave turbulence, soliton gases, BEC, and negative-temperature states are outlined. Outcome: compact framework detailing DS coherence, stability, scaling, with experimental signatures and design criteria for chirped-pulse oscillators.
